DO YOU HAVE A wedding CAKE PRICE LIST?

All of our cakes are customised - this means that there is no set price list. Pricing is dependent on size, flavors selected and complexity of design. Generally:

  • single tier from $100 (tall)

  • two tier from $380

  • three tier from $460

HOW DO I BOOK MY EVENT WITH YOU?

Most of our work and consultation is done via email, so please get in touch via sweets@saffronandsugar.com or by using our online form. 

Photos are very helpful in the design process, so please feel free to send these through. Photos of cakes by other designers will be used as inspiration, however please note that we do not directly copy. 

Once we have provided you with a quote, a 50% deposit will be required within 7 days to secure your booking, with full payment due 4 weeks prior to your event. For bookings made with less than three weeks notice, or with a value of $150 or less, full payment will be required at the time of booking.

We do not make tentative bookings. Bookings are only confirmed once a formal quote is received and deposit paid. 

HOW MUCH NOTICE DO YOU REQUIRE?

Cakes are booked on a first come, first serve basis.

For wedding cakes, it is recommended that you get in touch as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. In particular, peak wedding periods (March-May and Sept-Nov) tend to book out 6 to 8 months in advance.

For smaller cakes, we typically require 2-3 weeks notice, however this is subject to availability.

DO YOU OFFER CAKE TASTINGS?

Cake tasting boxes are offered seasonally. Please reach out via email to inquire about our next tasting.

ARE YOUR CAKES ALL BUTTERCREAM?

Yes, our cakes are filled and covered in Swiss meringue buttercream. On occasions, we also fill and cover cakes with chocolate ganache. Unfortunately we do not make fondant cakes.

CAN MY FLORIST DECORATE THE CAKE?

Due to food safety and insurance reasons, only the Saffron & Sugar team is permitted to dress the cake. We are happy to work with your florist to have them supply the florals for the cake prior to the event.

DO YOU DELIVER? 

Yes, delivery can be organised in advance and is subject to availability. Delivery pricing is based on distance from the Saffron & Sugar kitchen. We recommend that delivery be organised for wedding cakes. 

CAN I PICK UP MY CAKE?

Cake pick up is available from Gaithersburg, MD 20878 with timing to be agreed upon in advance. Cakes are packaged with care to ensure minimal movement during transport, however, unless delivery is organised, we are not responsible for any damage to your cake after the cake has left the premises. 

HOW DO I TRANSPORT MY CAKE?

For pick up orders, we recommend that cakes be transported on a flat surface in your vehicle (the floor or boot space) with the air conditioning on. Cake should be stored in the fridge, especially prior to any transport and brought to room temperature (around 45 minutes - 1 hour) prior to serving,

WHAT HAPPENS IF I CHANGE OR CANCEL MY CAKE ORDER?

Any major changes to your order less than two full weeks before the required delivery date may incur a fee to cover the reworking of the cake design and/or loss of work already completed on the order. 

All orders cancelled after a deposit is paid will incur a $50.00 administration fee. 

Refunds of deposits will not be issued for:

·       Single tiered cakes: cancellations within 2 weeks (14 days) of the delivery date.

·       Cakes 2 tiers +: cancellations within 6 weeks (42 days) of the delivery date.

CAN YOU ACCOMMODATE DIETARY REQUIREMENTS?

All cakes are made in the same kitchen where nuts, gluten and dairy are present.
